  • Using satellite data solutions to improve mobility, congestion and safety on urban roads – router and positioning demonstrator system “SATURN” for HGVs - University of Leicester**
  • Details of the support available which includes a mixture of fully funded access to expertise and cooperation with university research centres and institutes and part-funding (grant) towards external costs of innovation projects - Loughborough University iNET

**As part of SATellite applications for URbaN mobility (SATURN) project, the University of Leicester has developed a router and positioning demonstrator system for HGVs which was tested in Bordeaux in 2015. They planned a journey from Bordeaux centre to the outskirts / transport hubs locations and ran the application for two types of vehicles to calculate best route avoiding unsuitable roads for height & weight of the vehicle. The local authorities of Bordeaux had chance to assess the benefits and scope improvements of the app e.g. to adapt for local conditions, such as low overhead tram wires
