The appointment, presented in opulent surroundings by Anne, Princess Royal, last week, is in recognition of Leanne’s commitment and support for services to women in business.

It was announced in the New Year 2018 Honours List.

Heading up her software development business, Evolve-IT Consulting, in Ratby, Leicester, Leanne has been championing women in technology since the launch of her business in 2007 in a space that traditionally sees few women leaders.

Her MBE for services to women in business highlights her dedication to making her business a success and in promoting the technology industry to young women who might be thinking of a career in the sector.

Leanne attended the palace with her husband Tom and parents Roger and Valerie, alongside others receiving recognition, from charity pioneers to men and women from the armed services.

Evolve specialises in working with businesses in the construction, pharmaceuticals, FMCG, manufacturing and retail sectors and has customers across the UK and overseas.

After the investiture, Leanne and her family made the most of their special day with lunch at The Ritz and a show in the West End before heading back to work the following day.

“I am so honoured to have received an MBE, I am still in shock and would love to know who nominated me for it. The experience was out of this world and I will never forget it. Just being able to go into the Palace was amazing, it was a once in a lifetime moment.”
