This session is delivered by Rob Tice, Director at BMcPrecept. Rob is a specialist employment lawyer with over 20 years’ experience. He has worked with a wide range of businesses and organisations in that time and advised and assisted with a variety of redundancy processes. This ranges from large scale redundancies over multiple locations to making one role redundant.
Unfortunately in these difficult times, employers are being faced with the need to make redundancies. It is so important that the organisation considering redundancy understands what is required when conducting a redundancy process.
During the session, we will focus on the legal background and implications of redundancy and then focus on the practical requirements of a fair process. This will include pool selection, selection criteria and how the selection process should work including bumping, suitable alternative employment, the meaning of consultation and collective consultation. We will also look at practical tips to make sure the redundancy process goes as smoothly as possible.
