The Chamber Member Forums (previously Strategy and Influence Groups) are run on a county basis and give members across that area the chance for strategic engagement with the Chamber’s policy making activity.
Discussions held at the Forums are central in helping to shape and inform Chamber lobbying activity at a local and national level. Recent campaigns led by these forums include: East Midlands Public Sector Procurement Campaign; Better Broadband Campaign; Corporate Social Responsibility Campaign and the developing Sustainability Campaign.
In addition to discussing specific policy issues with members that have a similar interests, attendees have the opportunity to interact with local and national decision makers as well as being the first to learn about policy developments pertinent to their business and the region.
This next round of meetings will be the first since the UK lockdown took effect. Attendees will get:
- the first chance to see the impact this has had on the local economy via our yet to be published Q2 Quarterly Economic Survey results
- sight of additional data on business intentions for a return to work plans and longer-term feelings on activity levels
- an opportunity to quiz the local upper-tier authority on their response to the coronavirus
