As the leading business representation organisation in the East Midlands, the Annual Dinner is the pinnacle event in the East Midlands business calendar, with Chamber President Dawn Edwards set to welcome around 550 guests to the stunning Colwick Hall in Nottingham.
Following a welcome drinks reception, guests will be seated for a high quality four-course dinner. Throughout the evening, guests will be entertained by high profile speakers offering an insight into a cutting-edge business topic and the national political landscape.
The event is a fantastic opportunity to carry out high-level networking with some of the region's leading business figures and is also an opportunity to entertain clients and cement working relationships.
We are delighted to announce Greg Rutherford MBE as the Guest Speaker for the Annual Dinner 2020.
Greg is Great Britain’s most decorated long jumper and one of the country’s most successful Olympic athletes.
After a successful junior career, Greg won gold at the London 2012 Olympics - changing his life forever and playing his part in the most successful night of British olympic sport in history.
This iconic victory began a winning streak of gold medals. In 2016 at the Rio Olympic’s, Greg backed up his 2012 Olympic success with a further Olympic medal - he also found himself on the Strictly Come Dancing ballroom floor shortly after.
As one of Britain’s most successful sports people, Greg has learned not only how to reach the top, but also how to stay there - and it is these learnings from elite sport that he hopes to pass on to everyone, no matter their goal.
Amanda Solloway MP is the Member of Parliament for Derby North. She was first elected in 2015 and was re-elected in 2019.
In February 2020 she was appointed Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State at the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy.
As a member of the BEIS Committee, she took part in inquiries looking into some of the major challenges facing businesses around the UK including looking at working practices of major employers.
Amanda has worked as Parliamentary Private Secretary for the International Development Minister working on how aid and support is given to other nations.
She has also served on the Joint Committee for Human Rights, acting as the Rapporteur for Mental Health.
