The ITOPS qualification is a practical and relevant qualification designed to prove that candidates have the necessary skills to accurately operate the administration procedures in an international trade administration environment. This four day course is delivered in partnership with East Midlands Chamber (Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire) and Fidelitas Training.
Delegates will learn how to avoid costly mistakes and improve their international trade procedures. Some previous delegates have saved their employers thousands of pounds. Successful candidates will be awarded the ITOPS Qualification. The course is suitable for anyone employed in an international trade environment - whether that of a manufacturer/supplier or freight forwarder.

ITOPS is a recognised International Trade Qualification covering the main elements of Export Administration. The course runs over four separate workshops, followed by an assessment. This course is now BCC accredited and successful candidates will receive the BCC Foundation Award in International Trade.
The award covers the five main elements of export administration:
- Administration Procedures
- Export Documentation
- Customs and Excise and other legal requirements
- Export Payments
- Dispatch and Shipping
Delegates attend four formal training workshops - usually once a fortnight/every three weeks. A on-line assessment takes place approximately four month after the tuition ends. The evidence is then Internally Verified by an experienced assessor at the Chamber who decides if the required standards have been met.
Candidates have the opportunity to attend an airport visit at the DHL East Midlands Hub. Although optional, the feedback from this visit has proved that the experience is an invaluable part of the qualification.
The price includes training for four workshops, printed notes, full trainer support during the course of the programme, online registration, on-line assessment and verification.
GRANT FUNDING - HMRC have extended the deadline for customs training funding
The government is providing funding to help businesses prepare for Brexit by learning key Customs skills and knowledge.
The funding will give you up to 100% of the cost of training for your employees, up to a limit of £1500 per trainee.
Companies involved in trade as importers or exporters are eligible to apply for the training grant even if you use a third party to complete your declarations.
The funding can be used for the flagship ITOPS qualification, export and import courses, customs declaration training, IP/OPR and customs courses. There is also a grant available to update IT equipment if any of your colleagues would benefit from training.

"After completing the ITOPS course I feel my knowledge and skills for exporting have improved dramatically. It is a brilliant course that provides information on all aspects of exporting. I was able to provide my workplace with important information to improve our processing of shipments. Through this process I gained promotion at work to Admin Supervisor which I would not have been given without the knowledge from ITOPS. It is a really interesting course and I definitely recommend it to other exporters. I feel like if I ever have an unusual enquiry I can contact the Chamber of Commerce and I will have all the help I need"
