Course Overview

Modern process-based auditing is about ensuring that systems are effective and address customer needs. An ineffective audit can have severe consequences, resulting in process failure, customer satisfaction and regulatory non-compliance.

With this highly interactive two-day course, based around a very realistic case study, we will illustrate the necessary skills to assess and report on the conformance and implementation processes based on ISO 9001:2015, providing the knowledge and skills required to audit with confidence.

This course is designed to outline the skills and knowledge required to implement a successful audit, based on ISO 9001:2015. Delegates will learn how to initiate an audit, prepare and conduct audit activities, compile and distribute audit reports and complete any follow-up activities.

The course covers the complete life cycle of an internal audit, including the planning, conducting, reporting, and follow-up stages. It covers the knowledge that an effective auditor must possess, as well as the skills that are needed for a successful audit.

Prior Knowledge

It is advised that candidates have previously attended the ISO 9001:2015 Foundation Course (Quality Management Systems) before attendance of the ISO 9001: 2015 Internal Auditor (Quality Management Systems).  

However, if the candidate has prior knowledge of Management Systems, The PDCA cycle, Quality Management & knowledge of ISO 9001 standards then this will be deemed acceptable . If you do not hold the Foundation Certificate pre-course reading, provided by OMS, will be mandatory. This will be assessed by the trainer on the first day of the course.

Optimise your auditing skills with the internationally recognised auditing standard ISO 19011 and boost your internal audit capabilities. Gain confidence in planning and performing an effective audit, as well as reporting and taking corrective action and improvements where necessary.

This course develops the necessary skills to assess and report on the conformance and implementation of processes based on ISO 9001:2015 or other ISO Management Standards.  You'll learn how to initiate an audit, prepare and conduct audit activities, compile and distribute audit reports and complete follow-up activities.

Auditing is critical to continually improving your ISO 9001 quality management system. As your business grows and evolves, so must the way you manage quality – not only to maintain compliance, but also effectiveness. Internal audits help you to assess whether every aspect of your system continues to meet the ISO 9001 standard. Internal auditing skills also enable you identify gaps in your quality management system – giving you the knowledge and confidence to
continually improve the way you work.

Course content

The course covers the complete lifecycle of an internal audit including the planning, conducting, reporting and follow-up stages and works through these step-by-step. The whole course is very interactive (with formal presentations kept to a minimum) and is based on a realistic case study which allows delegates to try out and refine their auditing skills at every stage of the process. It covers the knowledge that an effective auditor must possess as well as the skills, particularly interpersonal, that are needed for a successful audit.

Assessment

Delegates will be assessed on the basis of their progress throughout the course. A Certificate of Achievement will be awarded to students who successfully complete both a 30 minute written test and the continuous assessment throughout the Course.

This course is delivered in partnership with our Chamber member OMS at their training centre in Coalville, Leicestershire.  Their modern training centre is conveniently located right in the centre of the UK in Leicestershire, and is just two miles from J22 of the M1.  Free onsite parking is available.
