Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) – “Trusted Trader”

An introduction for businesses to Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) the Trusted Trader” status. AEO is an internationally recognised quality mark indicating that your role in the international supply chain is secure, and that your customs controls and procedures are efficient and compliant.

Anyone involved in the international supply chain that carries out customs related activities can apply for AEO status irrespective of the size of their business.

It isn’t mandatory, but as a ‘trusted trader’ it opens the door to maximum facilitation in Customs matters.

Overview

The on-line training will cover:
• The background to AEO
• The HMRC AEO application and audit processes
• AEOC (Customs Simplification) – what you need to do
• AEOS (Security & Safety) – what you need to do
• The benefits of AEO status

The course will be delivered online with full participation from all attendees. You will be sent a calendar invite along with your link to access the session following receipt of your booking.

What outcomes can you expect from joining us

An introduction to Authorised Economic Operator status and its financial and supply chain benefits together with the important role having the accreditation may have following the UKs exit from the EU.

Keith Robe

With over 32 years’ experience of working in HM Customs & Excise and HMRC, Cusdec principal Keith Robe offers advice and support for businesses across all customs areas. His former role with HMRC, and previously HM Customs & Excise, for over 32 years involved working in various aspects customs work, latterly in Customs law and facilitations.

Keith has worked extensively on the introduction of the Union Customs Code (UCC), customs Special Procedures and is a champion of Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) accreditation. He is a qualified Security and Safety assessor and has educated International Trade Associations and businesses in all areas of customs development since 2002.
