This is a three-day course
This course is for those who have already started their leadership development through achieving an ILM Level 5 Award qualification.
The course will extend the knowledge and skills gained on the Award programme and provide extra credits to enable achievement of the ILM Level 5 Certificate in Leadership & Management. Participants joining the programme will be required to demonstrate that they have achieved a relevant Award programme within the last 3 years, and have covered off Leadership Development leading to achievement of at least 6 credits within the ILM Level 5 framework. The level 5 top up will focus on applying leadership skills within the context of innovation & change and participants will be required to identify and research an area for improvement within their workplace and suggest ways to enhance current effectiveness.
Top Up Delegates only: An online induction will take place which will explain the programme structure and requirements for the two units which will be required to Top Up to a Certificate Qualification. Delegates much be able to demonstrate that they have achieve an ILM Level 5 Award previously. This must not include the following units since these will be used to gain the additional unit credits required for the top up: 8607-504 Leading Innovation & Change & 8607-414 Data Collection & Analysis
Day 1 – 13 February 2025
Identifying, planning and managing opportunities for innovation & improvement in the organisation
Day 2 – 6 March 2025
Implementing and monitoring projects and communicating decisions to others at times of change
Day 3 -3 April 2025

By the end of the course participants will:
Have a better understanding of the full scope of a middle management role:
• Build on their own knowledge and understanding of their leadership style, character traits and levels of emotional intelligence and have identified areas for development.
• Know how to engage with others to bring about creative thinking, innovation and change within the organisation.
• Have identified a suitable improvement project within the workplace and have created a project plan including recommending a preferred solution, supported by evidence from work and tangible and appropriate measures.
• Have considered how to overcome barriers to innovation & change including needs and wants of stakeholders.
