Free to attend and open to all members, these meetings convene on a quarterly basis to direct lobbying activities on a broad range of topical issues affecting jobs, growth, and the economy – this is particularly important at the current time as we move towards a general election and party manifestos are being shaped.
Tackling local, regional and national issues affecting business, a cross-section of business leaders will assess the Chamber’s lobbying activities based on intelligence from across the county’s membership.
he purpose of these groups is to understand the current business climate and provide direction as to how to influence key local, regional, and national policymakers, with the Chamber keen that its members engage on the issues causing them most concern.
Agenda:
– First sight of the findings from the most recent Quarterly Economic Survey (QES)
– Update on the impact of the business voice once the functions of Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEPs) are transferred to local authority control – Peter Soulsby, City Mayor for Leicester.
– A discussion and opportunity to feedback to help inform lobbying priorities.
– Discussion with attendees – As we get closer to a likely General Election, we’re keen to understand the main policy issues that members want us to focus on in our engagement with politicians.
This is an opportunity to provide your thoughts on priorities and content to be delivered on your behalf.
