This is a one-day (6 hour) First Aid Industry Body (FAIB) Accredited Emergency First Aid at Work course.
This course is ideal for smaller workplaces, low risk settings (such as offices, hospitality and retail) and schools.
The course competencies include:
– Understand the roles and responsibilities of a First Aider
– Assessing an incident including the Primary Survey
– Managing an unconscious breathing casualty
– Managing an unconscious casualty who is not breathing normally (CPR and AED)
– Managing a seizure
– Handling a choking emergency
– Dealing with a burn or bleed injury including recognising and treating shock
– Responding to a severe allergic reaction
– Responding to an Asthma attack
– Dealing with Minor Injuries such as bumps and scrapes
Candidates will be assessed through continual practical assessment, scenarios, teamwork and verbal reasoning.
Upon successful completion candidates will receive an FAIB accredited certificate valid for 3 years.
