Brexit Readiness Workshop
The Brexit readiness workshop is intended for business owners, operations directors, business continuity managers and strategic management professionals responsible for the medium and long-term operation of the business.
The workshop is designed to provide an overview of how other companies and organisations are and should be preparing for Brexit, and the processes of environmental scanning and scenario planning. The workshop ends with an activity to design your own organisation’s Brexit readiness plan
The workshop will cover the following content:
- The process of environmental scanning and scenario planning and the usefulness of these activtites for the firm.
- An exercise in developing an initial plan for Brexit Impacts and Mitigation for your own.
- An overview of how prepared companies are for Brexit in different sectors.
Learning outcomes will therefore include:
- Develop an understanding of environmental scanning and scenario planning
- Apply environmental scanning and scenario planning tools to your own company's situation
- Developing an understanding of how to write a Brexit Impacts and Mitigation Plan
- Obtain a critical understanding of how prepared firms are in the UK for Brexit.
This workshop is delivered from the Chambers modern training facilities in Nottingham. Please note: The workshop is programmed to run from 9.00am - 12.30pm, this will be followed by a light lunch and the opportunity to network with other attendees. Joining instructions will be sent prior to the course.
About the trainer:
Professor Paul Baines PhD MPhil MSc DipM PGCertHE, BSc (Hons.), FIOD, FMRS, MAM
Paul Baines is Professor of Political Marketing and Associate Dean (External Relations) at the University of Leicester, and Visiting Professor, Cranfield University. Paul has delivered undergraduate, postgraduate and executive courses and classes in universities around the world, including in USA, Canada, Malaysia, Sweden, Finland, Ireland, Holland, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE. He is a Fellow of the Market Research Society (MRS) and the Institute of Directors. For over two decades, Paul’s research has particularly focused on political marketing, public opinion, and propaganda.
He has co-written and co-edited 20 books on marketing topics, including the best-selling Marketing now in its 5th edition with Oxford University Press. Paul’s consultancy work includes experience working with government departments on strategic communication research projects, as well as with many small, medium, and large private enterprises, including Glassolutions Saint-Gobain, IBM, 3M, and many more. He has run numerous programmes for small to medium sized enterprises through government funded programmes such as the European Regional Development Fund and European Social Fund projects previously.
Paul is also a regular commentator in both the press and broadcast media on political marketing topics. He is director of Baines Associates Limited, a strategic marketing/research consultancy and a non-executive Director of the Business Continuity Institute, a professional body for organisational resilience executives.
