The Chamber recognises the need to continually provide information and support to businesses of all shapes and sizes as we go through this continued period of unprecedented economic and political change.

With this in mind, we have arranged a new series of events, designed to assist business in preparing for Brexit.

This seminar is one of a series of events being organised and delivered by the Chamber in partnership with key stakeholders and local Chamber members, who are knowledgeable and experts in each of the respective event theme.

Brexit and the Future of Funding

This workshop will explore:

  • Implications on existing projects of a no-deal Brexit
  • Implications for future EU funding following a no-deal/deal Brexit
  • Domestic funding landscape – what will be the implications of a no-deal Brexit and exploration of current and future funding opportunities
  • Addressing the likely variances for grant, debt and equity finance for businesses.

Throughout this seminar the speaker will explore these issues against the East Midlands regional back drop where historically investment in research and innovation and productivity fall far below expectation – and ask is now the time for a change of approach to investment in research and innovation and how can businesses and universities in the region work together for a more prosperous and productive region?

We are delighted that the speaker for this  seminar will be Dr. Amanda Baxendale.

Dr. Baxendale is Head of Research and Innovation Services at University of Derby, within the Research and Knowledge Exchange Office. The office works with academics and external partners to secure funding for research and innovation projects which will have an economic, social, and/or environmental impact.

Who should attend?

Any individual in any organisation who has already secured or who wants to secure funding in the future.
