Laws regulating product safety and performance are changing. From 1/1/21, the UK will have new laws that regulate the safety and performance of certain products. From medical devices to machinery, electrical equipment to construction products, anyone looking to sell one of these products on the market in the UK will need to be aware of these changes.
Any product that has been sold in the UK with a CE marking on it, and anyone in the supply chain for those products, may be affected. The transition period following the UK’s departure from the EU ended on 1 January 2021.
Going forward the regulations that have required CE marking, have changed in the UK. There will be differing regulatory models for Great Britain (England, Scotland and Wales) and for Northern Ireland.
This online webinar is delivered by The British Standards Institution (BSI) and will provide delegates with support to navigate the new regulations.
Topics will include:
- Conformity assessment - UKCA
- Designated standards
- Conformity assessment - CE mark
- EU market access
A representative from the Department of International Trade will also provide an overview of the support available through the levelling up programme which includes The Export Academy, Internationalisation Fund and access to a 1:1 consultation with an International Trade Adviser.
The Export Academy – designed for owners and senior managers of businesses with a turnover of up to £500,000 to help build capabilities and confidence to trade internationally; and to overcome the challenges that businesses may face when they start to export.
