This online session gives you the chance to raise issues and ask questions directly to local MPs. This is an opportunity to discuss current working conditions with key decision-makers.

The meeting is open to all members, but will be of particular interest to businesses who reside in Derby North.  We are asking attendees to submit questions in advance, although there will also be an opportunity to ask questions via the chat function during the session. About Amanda Solloway MP

 



Amanda was elected as the Member of Parliament for Derby North in 2019, having also represented the constuency between 2015-2017.  

She currently holds the Government post of Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (February 2020) whose responsibilities include:

  • science and research
  • innovation
  • intellectual property
  • space
  • agri-tech
  • technology

During Amanda's previous tenure, she was also a committee member for:

  • Human rights (Oct '15 - May '17)
  • Education, Skills and the Economy Sub Committee (Dec '15 - June '16)
  • Business, Energy and Industrial strategy (Oct '16 - May ' 17)

She has lived in Derby for over 20 years and worked as a businesswoman, school governor and is an active community volunteer.
