Look who's coming to dinner!
This years Derbyshire Chamber and Business Link dinner in October promises to be a prestigious and highly entertaining occasion, with guest speaker Adrian Chiles, presenter of BBC 2s Working Lunch, providing wit and insight.Raised in Hagley in the West Midlands, Adrian says he emerged from local schools a slightly above average student. He went on to study English Literature at the University of London where he says he was definitely a below average student. He planned to teach English abroad but broke his leg playing football, leading to an alternative career path in journalism. Adrian started with the Birmingham Post and moved to his first on-air work on the Financial World Tonight on Radio 4. He presented the early morning business news on Radio 5, and moved on to host Working Lunch when it was launched in 1994.
Adrian has written and presented special reports on banking, The Millennium Bug and The Food Wars for Panorama for BBC 1. Last year, he presented a programme for BBC2 about Asian Businessmen, a BBC1 documentary on Royal Millions and the second series of BBC2s So What Do You Do All Day. In September 2004 he began presenting BBC2s Match of the Day 2.This is sure to be an entertaining evening, so book early to avoid disappointment.Date & time: 7pm for 7.30pm, Friday, October 7Venue: Renaissance Hotel, South NormantonPrice £50 plus VATContact: Sue Radford on 01246 212533.Back
