Chamber To Hold LEP Consultation
Local businesses can find out about the progress that the new Derby, Derbyshire, Nottingham and Nottinghamshire (D2N2) Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) has made since it was established last year at a free business consultation event.
The event, open to firms from both counties, takes place at Alliance Boots from 8am on Monday 9 May 2011. It has been organised by the Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with other business support organisations, to ensure that businesses are kept fully up-to-date with all the latest LEP developments.
The formal agenda will include the unveiling of the new D2N2 LEP website and details of the first round of bidding for cash from the Regional Growth Fund, which saw just one of 38 bids from the two counties succeed. It will also give further information about the second round of bidding, which is now open.
And firms will be able to find out how they can input into their views into the working groups responsible for driving the D2N2 LEP's strategic priorities, which are:
- Enterprise and Sector Support
- Inward Investment and Trade
- Promotion and Tourism
- Employment and Skills
- Planning, Housing and Transport
- Low Carbon Economy
- Financial Mechanisms
- Digital Infrastructure
They will also get the chance to put their questions directly to a panel of experts, which will include Chamber Chief Executive George Cowcher.
Mr Cowcher said: "The D2N2 LEP has made significant strides forward since it was established last October and the purpose of this event is to update businesses across both counties about the progress that has been made to date.
"Business involvement is the key to building a strong LEP here in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire and this event will give local businesses the opportunity to get involved, as well as giving them an understanding of how the LEP works, what its strategic priorities are and what it plans to do to drive our economy forward."
Spaces at the event are strictly limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. To book your place, email email@example.com or log onto www.dncc.co.uk.Back
