Firm Wins Greyhound Stadium Clean Up Contract
Commercial cleaning company Officecare has won the race to provide a service to keep Nottingham Greyhound Stadium on track in the spick and span stakes.
Officecare, based at Victoria Way, Pride Park, Derby, and with an office at Foxhall Lodge, Nottingham, beat several bidders to win the contract for the stadium which is based at Colwick in the same complex as the horse racecourse.
A team of staff are there four days a week at the pavilion which houses a 350-seater restaurant, three bars and a snack bar as well as corporate boxes and an office. An extra staff member helps on Friday and Saturday to clear up after punters. Workers also pick up litter from the terraces.
This is the first time that Officecare has provided a service for a greyhound stadium and the first sporting venue it has worked on in Nottingham. But it has wide experience, having cleaned Derby County’s Pride Park Stadium for 11 years and Derbyshire County Cricket Ground for eight.
Although Officecare, which employs nearly 300 staff at sites across the East Midlands, beat off competition for the work it was no gamble.
Business development director Martin Booth is delighted with the company’s prize takings. “We are confident that our winning formula, backed by our reputation, saw us first past the post,” he said.Back
