University Launches Science Without Borders Programme

The University of Derby is currently hosting 48 bright and enthusiastic Technology students from Brazil, keen to gain work experience whilst in the UK as part of the Science Without Borders programme.

Businesses can find out more at a launch event at the University's Enterprise Centre in Bridge Street, Derby, on Tuesday 9 April between 12.30pm and 2pm. Free lunch and refreshments are included.

At the event, you can find out how the programme can help your business by providing students to help on projects, meet and network with staff, potential students and other businesses already signed up to the scheme, and find out how taking an unpaid placement student can:

  • Provide a cost effective source of recruitment
  • Temporarily fill a skills gap or vacancy
  • Provide you with current knowledge, research and enthusiasm
  • Improve your links with the University, which can provide a range of further opportunities to help your business

Students are available for a maximum of 12 weeks throughout June – September. To book your place at the launch event and find out more, contact Louise Adam, employability co-ordinator, by emailing laa@eb.cu.dmdrya.k or calling 01332 593109.
