Two Chesterfield schemes ranked among UK's top 100 regeneration projects
The 100 biggest regeneration projects in the UK, ranked by investment required and including development progress and job creation, include two from the DNCC region.
Both are at Chesterfield.
Ranked at 43rd, with a cost of £352m, is redevelopment of the former coking works at The Avenue, Wingerworth.
It covers an area of 99,500sq metres, will include housing, recreational areas and light industrial/retail units and is expected to create 780 jobs.
The Waterside development is ranked 47th. It is a mixed use neighbourhood development on the edge of the town centre which, again, will include housing, retail, recreational and light industrial use.
It covers an area of 166,600sq metres, has a development value of £340m and is expected to create 2,000 jobs.
Full planning permission has been granted for either all or parts of both projects.Back
