September In Business Synopsis: Food and Drink
The July/August edition of DNCC's In Business magazine has gone to press and will be hitting desks early next week, but production is already underway on September's edition, and its editorial team is now accepting submissions.
For a full issue synopsis, click here.
The overall theme for the issue is "Food and Drink", so any submissions of this flavour will be most welcome. The big interview is with Andrew Collinson, who is Commercial Manager for the Food and Drink Forum.
On the politics page, we will be following-up the publication of this year's A Level and GCSE results with a look at how local employers view the exams system - have they been dumbed-down and do they deliver the skills and qualifications that businesses want and need. If you know of any local businesses with strong views on this issue, please let us know.
The recruitment and skills page follows a similar idea - ahead of the new school year, we will be looking at the alternatives to school for 14-19 year olds, and whether employers understand the potential impacts and benefits of initiatives like studio schools and University Technical Colleges (UTCs). Again, if you know of any decent case studies, please let us know.
There is also a special "Marketing Your Business" feature, in which we'll be inviting a number of marketing/PR agencies across the patch to give their top three tips for marketing a business. This feature is open to DNCC members only and if you would like to take part, please send a confirmation email firstname.lastname@example.org in the first instance, which we will follow-up with our requirements in due course.
