Status Social Wins Top City Contract

DEGF LogoStatus Social has won a two-year contract to run the social media marketing for the new Derby Enterprise Growth Fund.

The Littleover-based company teamed up with public relations experts JJPR to bid for the tender.

The aim of the contract is to raise the profile of the Derby Enterprise Growth Fund, a £20 million scheme to support business growth and job creation in Derby and the city’s travel-to-work area.

Status Social will be engaging directly with key influencers and the wider business community to promote the benefits of the DEGF and encourage companies to apply for support.

A spokesman for Derby City Council said: “We are delighted to have Status Social and JJPR on board to help take forward the DEGF programme.

“It is excellent that we have businesses here in Derby who have the expertise and the passion to play such an important role in the DEGF – communicating with a wide range of audiences to ensure that the fund is allocated with maximum effect for the benefit of both individual businesses and the local economy as a whole.”

Status Social was established more than two years ago as one of the East Midlands’ first specialist social media agencies, led by award-winning BBC journalist Mark Saxby. The Status Social team manages successful social media campaigns for companies throughout the UK.

JJPR was set up in 1996 by former journalist and PR agency director Sarah Jenkin-Jones who continues to work with a wide range of businesses and public sector organisations. Sarah has worked in PR in Derby for more than 20 years and has been involved in many of the keynote regeneration schemes in the city including Derby Pride and Derby Cityscape.
