Banner Jones Goes Hopping Mad!
The aim was to set a record for the most people bouncing on a space hopper at the same time.
It was organised by PeakFM under the banner ‘Bounce to make it better’ to raise money for Sheffield Children's Hospital.
The event was held in Chesterfield on Sunday 28 July.
Simon Wright, Director from Banner Jones and official world record witness on the day, said: "They needed to have just over 3,000 people bouncing for one minute to break the current world record but unfortunately they didn’t quite make the number which was a shame.
"But they did raise around £10,000 for a very good cause. Once the bouncers got going they didn’t want to finish and did well over the minute required, ending up bouncing for 16 minutes as a group."
Marketing Manager, Ann-Marie Lowe said, "Seeing over 500 people bouncing on bright orange space hoppers was surreal but the atmosphere was amazing.
"We have a very active fundraising team at Banner Jones and we’ve done some fantastic things recently including, The Bupa Race for Life, The Transpennine challenge, the Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge and also one of our Directors, Toby Netting, has run, cycled or rowed 10k a day for the whole of July. Toby will have covered 192 miles by the end of the month, amazing!"Back
