Chamber members team up for charity
New DNCC member Nottinghamshire Hospice is delighted to announce it has been chosen by fellow members, The Cornerhouse Nottingham, as its charity of the year.
Suzanne Green, Cornerhouse Centre Manager, said: "We’d been looking for a local charity to support and knew immediately when we met the Nottinghamshire Hospice fundraising team that they would be a perfect fit.
"They provide great opportunities for staff from local businesses to get involved and that’s fantastic for staff development and retention.
"There are a number of businesses in the Cornerhouse whose staff can benefit from the relationship and feel good about raising money to support local families affected by terminal or life-limiting illness.”
The Nottinghamshire Hospice fundraising team are working closely with the Cornerhouse to plan a number of activities throughout the year involving the firms in the Cornerhouse.
Nottinghamshire Hospice Fundraising Manager Holly Swinckels said: “We’re really excited to have been chosen by the Cornerhouse.
"We have an important role in helping local businesses to meet their community objectives and work hard to provide fundraising projects for staff with measurable outcomes for them in addition to the amount of money they raise for us.
"Every year, we have to raise £2m and having a major local business like the Cornerhouse supporting us this year will go a long way to helping us meet that goal.”
