Cooking up funds for charity

The first ever Great British online Cook Book will go on sale next year.

Hundreds of invitations are being sent out and the hunt is on to find 300 dishes from ten regions of Great Britain.

Celebrating our very diverse culture, uncovering extraordinary dishes served up in the hundreds of pubs, restaurants and hotels across our great nation.

We are looking for venues in England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales that have a dish worthy of featuring in The Great British Cook Book, and perhaps winning a fantastic prize, and national recognition.

Our search is to find 100 starters, 100 main course and 100 desserts, which embrace local produce, Britain’s diverse cultures, regional tastes and using locally sourced ingredients where possible.

Nominated venues don’t necessarily have to be AA Rosette or Michelin star rated, but must be passionate about food, innovative and inspiring.

As well as recipes of mouth-watering dishes, there will be features on seasonal produce, growers, suppliers and featured articles on butchers, bakers and fishmongers.

Once the book is launched the next challenge is to vote for the best three dishes from the starter, main course and dessert categories, with the winning venues receiving a prize worth over £30,000.

The publication goes on sale in Sept 2014 at just £5.00 + £1.00 Pay-Pal charge.

The money raised from the sales of the publication will be donated to the Macmillan Trust and Hospitality Action.
