Law firms merge

Bilton Hammond Solicitors and Banner Jones Solicitors have merged.

The merger, which took effect on 1 September. creates one of the largest legal practices in the region.

Simon Wright, of Banner Jones, said: “It was clear from the outset of discussions that the two businesses were a great fit.

"Against a changing legal landscape and with new entrants in to the field of legal services we felt that it was important that any merger partner should share our commitment to the provision of high quality services.

"Appreciating the strength of the Bilton Hammond brand, the new business will continue to operate as Bilton Hammond, in Mansfield.

"The remaining offices of the new business in Chesterfield, Sheffield, Bolsover, Clay Cross and Dronfield will trade as Banner Jones Solicitors.”

Both are trading names of Banner Jones Ltd.

Mark Bilton, of Bilton Hammond, said: “This merger combines the experience of our two well respected and established practices and the consolidation of our teams will provide added value to our clients.

"The original Bilton Hammond offering in Mansfield will be enhanced with new specialist areas of work such as Employment law, Dispute Resolution, Personal Injury and Business Legal Services.

"Midlands Mediation, created by Bilton Hammond, will remain the trading name for mediation services and become a core part of both Family law and Civil Dispute services within the new legal practice. ”

Both Banner Jones and Bilton Hammond are Chamber members.
