Scientific Laboratory Supplies Appoints PR Agency Integra Communications
Nottingham company Scientific Laboratory Supplies (SLS) has appointed Integra Communications Ltd to handle media relations in the run up to the 2014 Scientific Laboratory Show and Conference to be held at the East Midlands Conference Centre next May. Account Director Louise Third will work alongside senior SLS managers, together with the Royal Society of Chemistry, to promote the biggest event of its kind in the UK.
Based on the Wilford Industrial Park on the outskirts of the city, Scientific Laboratory Supplies (SLS) is the largest independent supplier of laboratory equipment, consumables, chemicals and Life Science products in the UK. The company has been trading 22 years and employs 143 staff. Sponsorship of the biennial Scientific Laboratory event is a major commitment by SLS to the professional development of UK laboratory personnel, and coincides with the launch of its new laboratory supplies catalogue.
Integra Communications has been selected for its strong connections with national and international bioscience and life science media, as well as for its regular connections with regional business media. The PR agency has handled communications campaigns for BioCity Nottingham, Medilink East Midlands and the Healthcare and Bioscience iNet, as well as for individual bioscience and medical technology firms.
Peter Lister, Operations Director said: “Integra Communications has impressed us with the scope and impact of their work. Having Louise on board as part of our team will enable us to promote the significance of the 2014 event for Nottingham, and to attract delegates from around the world. Louise’s creative ideas and campaign experience will complement those of the SLS team, the work of the Royal Society of Chemistry and will no doubt increase the impact for headline sponsor Thermo Scientific, co-presenters with SLS of the 2014 event.”
Integra Communications director Louise Third says: “Scientific Laboratory Supplies is a significant contributor to the regions’ strength in scientific discovery and development. Their continued support of this international event demonstrates a strong commitment to the laboratory industry. Our work will involve several partners, including the Royal Society of Chemistry and Thermo Scientific, so that Nottingham continues to be regarded as a global centre of excellence for the sciences.”Back
