Roland UK workshop for music students
Burton and South Derbyshire College held a music workshop in association with world leading music manufacturer Roland UK, on Thursday 26 September.
The event will pave the way for a formal launch of a new ‘Roland Music Academy’ later this autumn.
Staff and students from the College enjoyed an interactive day with access to the newly refurbished music rooms and a full range of Roland instruments. Experts from Roland were on hand to provide advice, support and information about careers within the music industry.
The exciting new Academy will provide Burton and South Derbyshire College students with the opportunity to gain a range of skills essential to progression into the industry, whilst allowing them to develop their own musical and creative talent through the use of the very latest electronic musical equipment.
Jodie Wilson, Head of Department said: “The workshop sessions were a great success and an excellent start to our partnership with Roland UK.
"It was good to have live music being performed in the College alongside Roland UK representatives, as we prepare for the formal launch of the new Roland Music Academy later in the year.
"Our ability to provide first class music courses will be enhanced by the addition of the dedicated facilities on offer as part of our Academy partnership.”Back
