Eight staff from Challinors have joined expanding specialist law firm Cartwright King. Most of the new joiners are family law specialists and are particularly strong in the area of child care.
Those joining Cartwright King include family solicitors Claire Butterfield, Philip Rea, Terri Mason and Fiona Bowen together with child care solicitor Carol Clelland plus two paralegals.
These latest additions bring the total number of people in the family team at Cartwright King to 23.
Also joining the firm from Challinors is John Allchin, a leading white collar lawyer who previously headed up the firm’s crime operation.
“We are really pleased that the team from Challinors have joined us and we will ensure that there is minimum disruption as the cases that they are currently handling move over to us,” said Fiona.
“I am sure that the team will be a great asset to the firm going forward too, growing our family team and providing us with the additional resources that we need to meet the demand for our services.”
Graham Penny Targets Expansion
Leading Midlands property auctioneers and estate agents Graham Penny has appointed Chrissie Walker as marketing manager as part of the company’s continuing growth and expansion in the region.
Chrissie will be responsible for creating and managing a regional marketing and brand management strategy for Graham Penny Auctions and Graham Penny Estates and working to expand the company’s corporate partnerships within the Midlands and beyond.
Andrew Parker, director at Graham Penny, said: “In the past two years we have experienced significant growth, with the opening of our Nottingham office on Wheeler Gate and being named the number one auctioneers in the Midlands and now our expansion into Leicester, and we’ve got many more plans for further growth now Chrissie’s on board.”
Prior to joining Graham Penny, Chrissie was an Account Director at integrated marketing and communications consultancy, bcsAgency. She has more than 15 years’ marketing experience managing regional, national and international campaigns and has a particular interest in PR and digital engagement.
Dr Dobson Moves to Freeth Cartwright
Local government expert Dr Nicholas Dobson has joined the team at Freeth Cartwright.
Nicholas led Pinsent Masons’ local government practice for many years and had previously occupied senior positions in local government.
Freeth Cartwright Chairman, Colin Flanagan, said: “We are delighted to have on board someone like Nicholas, who has the experience and reputation to help extend our local government service.”
Nicholas is also Communications Officer for Lawyers in Local Government.
JLT Specialty Strengthens Client Service Team
JLT Specialty, Nottingham, has strengthened its client service team with the appointment of Pardeep Bains and Louise Bilbie.
Pardeep joins as a Corporate Account Handler. She previously worked for a Leicester based insurance broker and before that for Aviva Insurance as an underwriter.
Louise has joined as Personal Assistant to the office team, which has grown to ten staff in just over a year. She has previously worked at a number of other professional services firms including Geldards and Bhatia Best solicitors.

Julie Pope Joins Fraser Brown
Previously a partner of Shakespeares, Julie has vast experience in all aspects of commercial property sales, purchases, development and funding of investment property.
Peter Thornley, Managing Partner, said: “Julie is a great asset to the firm. We are pleased to have her join the Fraser Brown property team.”
Ryley Wealth Management Expands
Ryley Wealth Management, Nottingham, has appointed two new staff.
Nasiba Sovani, joins from Santander as a Senior Financial Consultant and will help continue the strong growth seen over recent years.
Deborah Brown also joins the team, bringing with her 30 years’ experience in Financial Services having worked with both Personal and Corporate clients.Back
