EMT raises nearly £6,000 for Macmillan
East Midlands Trains passengers and staff raised almost £6,000 for the Macmillan Cancer Support when the train operator took part in the World’s Biggest Coffee morning in September.
A range of activities took place during the event including charity collections at stations and on trains. Passengers using the First Class Lounges at Derby, Nottingham, Leicester and Sheffield were also given the chance to buy a limited edition Macmillan pin badge and a slice of cake.
East Midlands Trains own employees also got involved by holding their own cake sales.
Danielle Blavins from East Midlands Trains ticket office at Derby last week handed over a cheque for £5,913.52 to Steve Loane, Area Fundraising Manager for Macmillan Cancer Support.
David Horne, Managing Director for East Midlands Trains, said: “We are so pleased to have raised such a large amount of money for this worthwhile charity. It was great to get involved in this year’s biggest coffee morning and we’re grateful to our passengers and staff for all their support for Macmillan.”
Steve said: “A really massive thank you to all the East Midlands Trains passengers and staff for raising such a fantastic amount."Back
