Invest In Nottingham Club Appoints New Interim Chief Executive
The organisation works closely with Nottingham city and Nottinghamshire county councils to attract new investment to the area and promote the growth of the local economy and now has 200 members.
Chartered accountant Simon, who jointly founded leading recruitment agency Cherry Professional - which has offices in Derby and Nottingham - says he is looking forward to leading the growth of the club.
“I'm absolutely thrilled to be joining the Invest in Nottingham Club as Interim chief executive," he said. “Nottingham is a fantastic city with excellent educational establishments, a diverse range of organisations and has significantly invested in recent times in improved transport links. It's no coincidence that Mark Carney chose Nottingham as the city to deliver his first speech outside London back in August, which shows the importance of our local economy to the UK as a whole.
“The Invest in Nottingham Club has a motivated and driven board, a great membership base and an excellent reputation which extends far beyond the city. I am very proud to be joining such a high calibre team and am looking forward to leading the organisation through its next phase of growth.”
Paul Southby, the club's chairman, said: “Simon’s appointment is the beginning of a new phase of development for the club and the Invest in Nottingham campaign.
“He is a serious businessman with a real passion for Nottingham, and will bring a new dimension to the club’s work, and the relationship between business and the city and county councils.
“Our focus is to help promote the growth of the local economy and to help everyone who lives, works, and does business in Nottingham share in the benefits. The Invest in Nottingham Club has made a tangible contribution to local growth over the last few years and with Simon at the helm, and with the benefit of his skills and enthusiasm to take the city forward, I am confident that our impact and the benefits we help to build and promote can only increase”.Back
