Record-Breaking Start to 2015 for Hall-Fast
The Mansfield firm has enjoyed its best ever January and February and is on target to increase its turnover by 50% in the current financial year.
Headline figures for February saw the firm receive more than 500 orders, export up to £105,000 worth of products and dispatch more than 800 orders - in addition to it enjoying its best ever turnover and biggest ever monthly profit. The company now exports to 82 countries and has generated more than £800,000 in export sales since it began trading overseas in 2009.
Owner Malcolm Hall highlighted the firm’s online strategy as one of the main reasons for success - which has led to it now marketing 275 leading brands and boasting more than 350 suppliers.
He said: “Our online sales have increased significantly, with month on month improvements in most of the key metrics such as number of online orders, monthly sales value, average order value and our e-commerce conversion rate. The decision to work with an industry leading SEO and Google Adwords specialist has been one of the key elements to this.
“Trading overseas is as easy as trading locally. Businesses would be crazy not to consider exporting.”
The company capped off a successful February by scooping this year’s Mansfield Armchair Club’s annual Question of Sport quiz.
The popular event saw a number of firms from across north Nottinghamshire battle it out to become the top brains in sport.
This year’s competition was won by a team representing Hall-Fast, which came out on top in a 15-strong field. Defending champions Andrew Saunders Insurance finished second, while Mortgage Zone came third.
Mr Hall said: "The evening was a really enjoyable night. We were really proud to win this year’s event and are looking forward to defending the title next year.”
The Armchair Club was founded in 1982 when a group of six businessmen got together to help raise and distribute financial support to the benefit of local sports people. Local sports stars who have been backed by the group include double Olympic gold medallist swimmer Rebecca Adlington, Ryder Cup golfer Oliver Wilson and Paralympian swimmers Sam and Ollie Hynd.
The winning team was made up of Malcolm Hall, Andrew Frogson, Andy Plant, Paul Nyland, Mark Stevenson, Mark Dowthwaite, Colin Moir, Christopher Duncan, Bryan Steel, Damian Booker, Ashley Booker and the Chamber's Media and Communications Manager Jon Smart.Back
