Easter travel on East Midlands Trains

East Midlands Trains has issued advice for passengers planning to travel on its services over the Easter break.

The vast majority of services will continue to run as normal over the Easter weekend and there will be no major works affecting East Midlands Trains services to and from London.

However, there will be some changes to the timetable on some routes and passengers are advised to check before travel.

Major engineering works on the West Coast mainline into London Euston from Friday 3 to Monday 6 April means that East Midlands Trains services to and from London, between Crewe and Derby and from Liverpool to Sheffield/Nottingham are likely to be much busier than normal as passengers are diverted from the West Coast.

On Easter Sunday, most Southbound services to London St Pancras International during the day will depart earlier and have longer journey times.

Services between Derby and Crewe (Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 April) will terminate at Kidsgrove with a replacement bus service for the onward journey. Services between Peterborough and Doncaster (Saturday 4 and Monday 6 April) will have a replacement bus service between Sleaford and Spalding. Services between Liverpool and Norwich (Sunday 5 April) will start and terminate at Peterborough with a replacement bus service between Peterborough and Norwich.
