Just Imagine... Working Here
The deadline for entries to a scheme to get primary school children to think about career paths has been extended.
Companies interested in taking part in 'Just imagine... working here!' now have until 6 May to register.
The scheme is open to all companies in Derby and Derbyshire willing to let youngsters visit to learn about what they do.
It seeks to give children a chance to see the world of work, be inspired and to raise their aspirations, to gain a positive experience with local industry, explore jobs and hear what employers look for in staff.
The organisers, the Derby Renaissance Board, wants businesses to host pupils from a local school for at least half a day, offering a tour of the premises, demonstrations, presentations or perhaps quizzes and question and answer sessions.
In return for their commitment, DRB says, firms will be part of an initiative to inspire a generation, gain opportunities for staff to get involved with local schools and gain opportunities to raise the profile of the business through media coverage of the visits.
Any firm interested in taking part in the scheme should contact Hassan Mazhar at Derby City Council by emailing email@example.com or calling 01332 641600.Back
