Students bring The Directing Showcase to stage

Burton and South Derbyshire College Performing Arts students will be showcasing their script writing and performance skills when they bring The Directing Showcase to the Brewhouse Arts Centre, on 5 and 6 May.

The evenings will blend together an exciting range of snappy plays written by the 2nd year students, which will reveal the joys, inspirations, puzzling questions and life pressures that stimulated their imagination.

Under their artistic direction, the 1st year performers will then take these stimulating individual stories from page to stage.

Jade Wilcock, Deputy Head of Performing Arts at Burton and South Derbyshire College said: “The Directing Showcase is a great opportunity for students to work together to showcase their script writing, directing and performance skills. It gives students hands on experience in the range of skills required within the performing arts industry, as well as the chance to showcase their work to a live audience.”
