25 miles in the saddle for charity

Ian TorrIan Torr, of Nottingham-based law firm Cleggs Solicitors, raised £900 for charity by taking part in the The Great Notts Bike Ride at the weekend.

He cycled 25 miles to raise the cash for the When You Wish upon a Star charity.

The money raised over the course of the weekend will help to grant the wishes of children affected by life threatening illnesses.

Ian is a regular cyclist and was more than happy to play his part in joining the event and raising money for such a worthwhile charity.

“It was a great atmosphere and for a brilliant cause,” he said “We are keen to support our local charities wherever we can.

“We are thrilled to have raised £900 for When You Wish upon a Star,” he added.

Jean Brydon, also from Cleggs Solicitors, completed the 50 mile route along with almost 5,000 participants.

Charity bikers set out on either a 25, 50 or 100 mile ride depending on ability. The routes went through Wilford, The Vale of Belvoir, Elton, Kilvington, Car Colston, East Bridgford and further afield for the longer routes before finishing at the Embankment.
