Van Elle adds to awards tally
Ground engineering contractor Van Elle has won the ‘Specialist Contractor of the Year’ at the 2015 Construction News Awards.
The inspirational winners of the 2015 Construction News Awards were announced yesterday at the Grosvenor House Hotel, London.
Van Elle has been supplying piling, investigation and stabilisation solutions across the UK and overseas for more than 30 years.
The Construction News Awards brought together over 1,300 industry leaders from across the UK for a glittering evening of celebration, recognition and networking.
After face to face review by a panel of 57 expert judges, Van Elle was recognised as being the ‘stand out company in its field’ and an ‘outstanding player in what is a niche market’.
Judges were particularly impressed with the firm’s global reach – particularly Van Elle’s commitment to working in incredibly difficult conditions, citing the firm’s 8-month project in the Falkland Islands as a prime example.
On top of this, the company’s business plan was highlighted by the judges as being ‘remarkably forward-looking’ – Van Elle’s planning on a 12-year cycle, along with a strong financial base, was particularly impressive.
Overall, Van Elle was described by the judges as a ‘model for all construction businesses’ and was the unanimous choice to be named Specialist Contractor of the Year.
Denise Chevin, consultant editor of Construction News said: “The calibre of entries seems to rise each year, demonstrating the fantastic work going on in the sector – technical ingenuity, great business acumen and world class projects."Back
