Open evening for UTC
Burton and South Derbyshire University Technical College (BSD UTC) is holding an open evening on Thursday 30 July, 5pm-8pm, at Burton Town Hall.
Anyone interested in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) subjects and who is due to start Year 10 or Year 12 in 2016 can find out more about what the BSD UTC will offer.
The BSD UTC is sponsored by Burton and South Derbyshire College and Coventry University, as well as being supported by key employers.
University Technical Colleges (UTCs) are government-funded schools that offer 14- to 19-year-olds an innovative learning environment. They teach students technical and scientific subjects in a whole new way and are educating the inventors, engineers, scientists and technicians of tomorrow.
Janak Patel, BDS UTC Principal, said: “It will be a good opportunity for young people and parents to find out more about the new UTC and the exciting learning environment on offer.
"The UTC’s purpose-built engineering and science labs will give students an opportunity to solve real life problems at the same time as studying theory, providing them with the skills they need for higher education and success in their future careers.”Back
