Chamber welcomes Economit as new patron
Independent IT Consultancy Economit has become a patron of the Chamber.
From its inception five years ago Economit has grown quickly. It now has nine staff and plans to add additional resource in coming months.
The business, based at The Colour Shed, Darley Abbey Mills, Derby, delivers an IT Director-level strategic consultancy, technology leadership and decision-making to SME businesses looking to better utilise technology to facilitate growth. This is all built on the unique ethos of being completely independent and impartial, guaranteeing it takes no financial incentives from any recommendations made.
The firm helps business leaders to understand the true value of their technology, bringing clarity around the actual cost of IT and ultimately the return on investment attributed to any potential spend. A by-product of this commercial approach is that Economit has saved its clients quite literally millions of pounds during its five years in operation.
The Chamber’s patrons’ scheme is aimed at businesses which want to take a leading role in the local business community. Chamber patrons are influential and prominent organisations which share the values that drive the Chamber forward.
Nick Gall, Managing Director at Economit, said: “Back in 2011, when we created the business, the first membership we signed up to was the Chamber. We understood the importance of working closely with the Chamber and that hasn’t changed five years on.
“As we approach our fifth birthday, we’re looking to rub shoulders with some of the most influential businesses in the region and patronage with the Chamber is a big step for us.
“We look forward to seeing our brand - which can be seen on our new website at www.economit.co.uk - alongside the likes of Derby County football club, DHL and University of Derby and are excited to be called a patron of the Chamber.”
Chamber Chief Executive Scott Knowles said: “I am delighted to welcome Economit on board as a Chamber patron.
“Economit is an established and proven technology consultancy, empowering business leaders to make correct technology decisions so that IT can propel the business into growth.
“Chamber Patrons are a powerful force in influencing policy, driving economic growth and development and equipping smaller businesses with the knowledge and skills that are vital to their future.
“Economit will bring to the Chamber skills and expertise to complement those of the other Chamber Patrons to evolve something which is, together, greater than the sum of its parts.”
The Chamber currently has 23 patrons, including DHL Express, East Midlands Airport, Experian, The Money Shop, Wilko and Santander.Back
