Total Motion is Leicestershire Business of the Year

The largest family-run and privately-owned leasing and fleet management provider in the UK has taken top honours at the region’s most prestigious business awards.

Total Motion wins Business of the YearTotal Motion Vehicle Management, which operates fleets ranging from 30 to over 60,000 vehicles and has responsibility for 12,000 drivers working for 200 clients in 14 countries, took the Business of the Year accolade at the Chamber's Leicestershire Business Awards on Friday night.

The company, which has a combined fleet size in excess of 460,000 vehicles around the world, had won the Outstanding Growth Award earlier in the evening.

Receiving the award from sponsor Mazars, Finance Director Mark Hughes said: “It is a surprise and an honour to win this prestigious award and we’re proud to have been chosen from all of the excellent businesses here tonight. I’d like to thank all our customers, suppliers and staff for making it possible.”

The company was one of 12 to win an award on the night, as the Chamber celebrated the strength and successes of businesses across Leicester and Leicestershire.

To qualify as a contender for the supreme accolade of Business of the Year, Total Motion Vehicle Management had already scooped the Outstanding Growth Award.

Chamber President Geoff Poyzer said: “The Chamber’s congratulations go to all of this year’s winners. We had some really good entries and the judging process, as it is every year, was extremely tough, but all the winning businesses thoroughly deserve their success.

“The standard of competition was extremely high, which clearly shows that despite the political and economic uncertainties of Brexit and a General Election resulting in a minority Government, we have some real success stories of Leicestershire businesses doing very well. All of the finalists deserve recognition for their success.

“Over the past 12 months, businesses in Leicestershire have been busy keeping calm and carrying on investing, innovating, exporting and growing. These awards are testament to the quality of the businesses we have in this city and county and I applaud each and every one of them.”
