Board member receives Queen's Birthday Honour

Chamber Board member Eileen Richards has been made a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the Queen's Birthday Honours list.

Founder and Managing Director of ER Recruitment, Leicester, Eileen was made an MBE for her work promoting female entrepreneurship.

In addition to her work with the Chamber and running her own business, Eileen is Co-Director of the Chamber's Enterprising Women initiative.

Eileen was one of more than 30 local people to receive accolades in the Queen's Birthday Honours List.

They included: 
* Rowena Limb, Area Director, East Midlands and South East Midlands, Cities and Local Growth Unit, Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, Officer of the Order of the British Empire, for services to the economy 
* Pritpal Singh Landa, Managing Director at DSL Group (Nottingham), Officer of the Order of the British Empire, for services to business, charity and the community in Nottingham 
 
* Adrian Fewings, Founder and Chief Executive Officer at Derbyshire Aggregates, Member of the Order of the British Empire, for services to business and the community in Derbyshire, and 
* Joseph Ian Willgoose, lately Estates Director, University of Derby, Medallist of the Order of the British Empire, for services to Higher Education. 

Scott Knowles, Chief Executive at the Chamber, said: "Congratulations to everyone regionally who received an award in this year's Queen's Birthday Honours. They should be proud and we are proud for them, particularly those who are in Chamber membership or, as in Eileen's case, make a significant contribution to the Chamber."
