Induction Junction featured in the Food Standard’s Agency’s Food Safety Week

The first week of June was the Food Standard Agency’s (FSA) annual Food Safety Week which celebrated professionals who contribute individually to maintaining the highest collective standards in food safety and food hygiene – mostly working unseen.

Participating in the campaign was Leicestershire businesswoman and Chamber member Hazel Langley, owner of Induction Junction, an online training business. As well as being featured herself, Hazel took the opportunity to highlight the work of several of her customers working in the food business.

Hazel said

“According to the FSA’s Food Hygiene Rating data there are 6,420 food business registered and operating within Derby, Leicester and Nottingham City alone area with a hygiene rating of 3 (Satisfactory) or higher. The good news is that over 90% of those are rated as 4 (Good) or 5 (Very Good). The attitude an effort of those businesses should be applauded.”

So what of the food businesses failing to meet the satisfactory score?  Hazel adds

“Unfortunately, there are still too many businesses operating in the East Midlands that require improvement (rated 2 or less) and we can offer affordable training to help them understand what is required to improve their management and practice and therefore their ratings and compete for customers.”

Anyone can search the food hygiene ratings at http://ratings.food.gov.uk to decide whether they want to eat at a certain place.

Proactive businesses looking for training to help them improve their rating can contact Hazel at Induction Junction on 0333 358 3084.
