LLEP video urges businesses to get involved in Local Industrial Strategy
The Leicester and Leicestershire Enterprise Partnership (LLEP) has launched a video highlighting the areas strengths and aspirations for a Local Industrial Strategy.
The LLEP produced a Local Industrial Strategy Prospectus document in July after consulting with over 150 local businesses and this has now been developed in to a video.
The prospectus was used to inform Government of Leicester and Leicestershire’s strengths and aspirations, which resulted in the LLEP being included in the second wave of Local Enterprise Partnerships invited to develop their local plans.
The Local Industrial Strategy video was launched at the LLEP AGM at the end of September. The AGM was attended by over 120 delegates who heard from Kevin Harris, Chair of the LLEP, as he introduced the video that aims to encourage local businesses to work with the LLEP and contribute to the development of this important document.
Kevin said: “Leicester and Leicestershire is a fantastic place to live and work and we want to make sure the wider UK and international markets appreciate what we offer too.
“We must understand what businesses need to grow, so it is essential that more local businesses get involved with developing the full strategy.
“This is a really important document for boosting productivity, creating jobs and prosperity. The Local Industrial Strategy will shape the future or our city and county for many years to come.”
The official release of the LLEP’s Annual Report for 2017/18 also took place at the AGM. Close to 40 projects and programmes have received investment and support from the LLEP during the period.
