Work experience placements urgently sought

Work experience opportunities are needed for individuals completing digital skills training.

The people looking for workplace openings have all completed four-day intensive training courses and are keen to put their newfound skills into practice.

They want short-term, unpaid work in web development, digital marketing, data presentation, cyber security or Digital Essentials - the Government led cyber security accreditation initiative.

Leading experts run the Digital Skills Academy training courses, which are funded by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport and delivered by the Chamber and partners as a pilot to attract under-represented groups to digital careers.

All those passing beyond the classroom to look for work experience will hold certificates of competence, giving potential ‘employers’ confidence in their abilities.

The placements can be flexible around the needs of the business. Additional mentoring will be available throughout the work experience placement.

Businesses able to offer opportunities do not have to be in the digital sector but the role must be digitally based.

The objective is to give work experience to the individual to further enhance their digital skills while, at the same time, supporting development of the host business.
