Preparing Businesses for a new Trading Environment

As part of a series of Brexit Readiness for Change Events, the Chamber has teamed up with HSBC and the British Chamber of Commerce (BCC) to bring its members a seminar on 7 October, focusing on business preparedness for a new trade environment.

HSBC is one of the largest banking and financial services organisations in the UK. From their experience of speaking to business from across the UK, HSBC will use this specialist insight in the current national business environment to bring this event to Chamber members, to prepare businesses to trade internationally post-Brexit.

The topics on the day will expand upon the uncertainty which surrounds international trade; around human resources, contract fulfilment, supply chain management and regulatory compliance. The event will offer practical advice to businesses around the challenges not only they, but those their customer’s will face going forward and insights in how financial service providers can support business through this time of uncertainty.

Suren Thiru, Head of Economics and Trade Policy from the BCC, will be speaking on the day to offer more expert advice to ensure businesses attending are resilient and prepared to trade internationally. With the chances of the UK economy deteriorating in the wake of a no-deal Brexit, the BCC and the Chamber are keen to prepare business as much as possible before 31 October.

The event is a must for businesses who are importers and/or exporters and introducers (i.e. accountants and solicitors).

It is to be held at HL Plastics in Denby, Derbyshire on 7 October.
