A day of support for start-up businesses
In an age of innovation, there are new business ideas being generated every day. However, entrepreneurs can find it challenging to make brilliant ideas turn into a reality. The Chamber are keen to support start-up businesses by making clear all the local opportunities on offer. Whether your concerns touch on funding, business planning or you just need some one-to-one advice, there are a lot of opportunities on offer.
Start-Up Day 2019 is being held tomorrow, Friday 11 October. The programme is ran by the British Library and offers free talks, workshops and tailored advice to start-ups all over the country. On this day, it is coming to the Business and IP Centre in Nottingham.
The event will be a fantastic opportunity to network with expert partners and other entrepreneurs. The agenda is set to cover how social media can build your business profile, advice on funding and finance from Santander, a speed mentoring session and a keynote speech from renowned business journalist, Steph McGovern.
It is set to be an unmissable event for those starting-out, or those wanting to scale-up; an action-packed day of free business support that can help turn an idea into a reality.

Similarly the Chamber delivers a D2 Business Starter Programme, in partnership with Derby City Council and Derby County Council, which offers workshops, drop-in events and one-to-one advice to anyone in Derbyshire thinking of starting a business. The programme offers individuals a practical support to help them get their business idea off the ground and includes expert advice on how to create realistic and innovative business plans, how to use digital technology for the benefit of the business and a workshop programme tailored to your individual needs.
