DMU confirmed as Christmas Lunch headline sponsor

De Montfort University has been confirmed as headline sponsor for the Chamber’s eagerly-anticipated Christmas Lunch, which takes place on Friday 6 December at Athena from midday onwards.

Fellow valued sponsors for the event include event sponsors Creative 62 and RSM as well as design and print sponsor, Soar Valley Press & Print.

As one of the country’s leading academic institutions, De Montfort University prides itself on its unique sense of community, the life-changing experiences it offer to students and the global impact made by its students and staff. From a business perspective, it offers organisations – from start-ups to internationally-renowned businesses - innovative and thought-provoking solutions to the challenges they face; including short courses to develop talent, student placements, graduate recruitment, research services and specialist facilities.

The Chamber looks forward to continuing its long-established work with De Montfort University to enhance and evolve its engagement with businesses in every sector.

Prof. David Mba, Pro Vice-Chancellor Enterprise, and Dean of the Faculty of Computing, Engineering and Media (pictured) at the university said:

“I am delighted to be supporting the Chamber and its members at this fantastic event, which forms part of De Montfort University’s commitment to helping local businesses to thrive, flourish and enhance our community.

“As a university, we are passionate about supporting economic growth and providing opportunities to develop local enterprises, so we’re thrilled to partner with the Chamber on a number of important projects as the region’s leading business organisation.

"From our efforts to deliver apprenticeships and training opportunities, through to offering advice and guidance for start-ups and small or medium-sized enterprises, an integral part of our work supports both apprentices and businesses to achieve their ambitions and develop skills in the region, alongside offering exciting prospects for our students and the wider community of Leicester.

“I look forward to welcoming you all as part of this inspiring occasion and enjoying a wonderful start to the festive season.”

The Chamber’s Christmas Lunch, a flagship event in the Leicestershire business calendar, attracts several hundred delegates every year from across the region to join in a festive luncheon and entertainment to kick-start the holiday season. There are still a few tickets available for the luncheon.
