Derby Conference Centre puts on a free Christmas lunch for local community
The Derby Conference Centre held a free Community Christmas lunch recently. The feedback was extremely positive and it’s set to be a permanent feature on Derby’s festive calendar.
The invitation to the lunch was extended to a number of community groups and charities, including Re-engage (formerly Contact the Elderly) and a popular care facility for the elderly based in Derby itself. From 12pm to 4pm the 70 guests enjoyed some wonderful festive fayre, socialised with friends old and new and were thoroughly entertained by the Rolls Royce Ladies Choir.
The Derby Conference Centre organised the lunch to celebrate its recent rebrand and launch of its new website, but the event also gave the organisation the opportunity to give something back to the local community, which has played a big part of its success.
On the day, the guests were very well looked after by The Derby Conference Centre’s team; a team which comprised of the catering staff and the sales team who took over the serving duties to make sure everyone was fed and watered in style.
The Derby Conference Centre Managing Director, Matthew Hutchings, expressed his immense pride in how the day went: “I am not only delighted with what we have achieved here today, but I am also extremely proud of how the entire team rolled up their sleeves and pulled together to make sure it was a success and was thoroughly enjoyed by all of the local VIPs who attended.
"Local community charities work so hard and I feel honoured to be able to give them this small token of our thanks at a time of year when things can be particularly tough.”
It’s been a busy six months for this unique and versatile venue. It launched the new website in June after a major rebrand to highlight its six core services – Hotels, Meeting, Events, Weddings, Offices and Conferences.
Regardless of how busy the continued success makes the organisation, it will still find time to host this well-received free Community Lunch for many years to come.Back
