Request for region’s businesses to help combat coronavirus

East Midlands Chamber (Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire) has been approached by a number of official regional governments in China.

The contact comes with a view to identifying UK-based suppliers and manufacturers of the surgical and medical equipment crucial to combatting the spread of the coronavirus; which originated in Wuhan, China, and has since spread across the country and large parts of the world.

With the East Midlands having a strong reputation for manufacturing, the Chamber is inviting any business active in this area to get in touch if they are in a position to share the following items: masks, caps, goggles, screens, respirators, suits, gowns, gloves, thermometers and detection kits.

Laura Howard, Head of International Trade at the Chamber, said: “Lots of crucial work on an international scale has gone into limiting the spread of this contagious virus since the outbreak last month.

“However, more can always be done and this is a great opportunity for the fantastic businesses operating in this area across the East Midlands to play their part in combatting this particularly potent virus.”

If your business can assist, or should you need more information, please contact Laura Howard on 0115 957 8748 or email laura.howard@emc-dnl.co.uk.
