The annual awards are the highest accolade that businesses can achieve from HM the Queen. They mark the contribution that SMEs make towards UK trade across four categories – innovation, international trade, sustainable development and promoting opportunity through social mobility.

Scott Knowles, Chief Executive of East Midlands Chamber (Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire), said: “Congratulations to all of the recipients of this year’s Queen’s Awards for Enterprise across our three counties.

“There are some extremely deserving winners this year who have done amazing things in their own sectors overt the past 12 months and all deserve this prestigious recognition.

“Our special congratulations go to the Chamber members which are represented this year. They are Baltex, which has achieved significant growth in the export markets in the past 12 months, Esendex, in recognition of its innovative mobile payments system, and Marketing Derby, which does such vital work in not only putting the city on the map, but also in attracting investment from which the whole region benefits.

“The Queen’s Awards is a hallmark of quality for the businesses which have won one which marks them out from their competition, and it’s great to see so many winners from across the East Midlands, and Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire in particular, this year, which highlights the strength of the region’s business community.”
